Elton John Discharged Following Hospitalization for Fall

Legendary singer-songwriter Elton John has been discharged from hospital following a fall that left him with a serious injury. The 72-year-old was admitted to the hospital on April 28th after he fell at his home in Windsor, England. He was treated for a “serious infection” related to the injury and was released on May 4th.

Johns representative, Fran Curtis, said in a statement that the singer is “resting comfortably at home and is in good spirits.” She added that he is “grateful for the wonderful care he received from medical professionals during his stay.”

John had been scheduled to perform at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on April 29th but had to cancel due to his hospitalization. He also canceled several other shows in May and June as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. It is unclear when he will be able to resume performing again.

The singer has been open about his health issues in recent years, including prostate cancer and an irregular heartbeat. In 2017, he underwent surgery for an infection related to his prostate cancer treatment. He also underwent surgery for appendicitis last year and had to cancel some shows as a result of the procedure.

John has been one of the most successful musicians of all time, selling more than 300 million records worldwide over the course of his career. He has won five Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and a Tony Award among many other accolades. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998 for services to music and charity work.

John是史上最成功的音樂家之一：其生平共售出3億張專輯。他也共五度奪得格萊美大獎、一座奧斯卡大師、一座托尼大師與眾多其他大小成就。1994年加入Rock & Roll Hall of Fame、1998年由伊麗莎伊女王勳章、2002年由皇室勳章、2005年由皇室勳章……無數成就都是John生命中重要的金字塔之一。
